DICTA 2015 Conference

Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

Speakers should report to the stage at least 5 minutes before the start of their session and should introduce themselves to the session chair when they arrive.

Speakers have the option to use their own laptop or to bring their presentation on a USB stick. If you bring your own laptop, test it with the AV system before the session begins, to avoid any delays.

If you bring a USB stick, copy your presentation to the conference laptop before the session begins, and make sure that it runs correctly. The conference laptop will be a MacBook Pro, with Microsoft PowerPoint and a recent version of Adobe PDF reader installed.

Oral talks are allocated 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions. This includes time for switching between speakers and the introduction. Please make sure you do not exceed the given time limit.

If you require any special assistance during your talk or to get to the stage, please let the session chair know of this before the session or email the Program Chairs.

Poster Presentations

There will be three poster sessions, one each day of the conference. Presenters are expected to be present at their posters during their assigned session. During the conference each poster presenter will receive their poster ID. The poster ID consists of a letter and a number. The letter indicates the poster session and the number indicates the number of the display board assigned to the poster.

  • A - poster session 1 - Monday November 23rd
  • B - poster session 2 - Tuesday November 24th
  • C - poster session 3 - Wednesday November 25th

Posters will be allocated a space equivalent to one A0 size poster in landscape orientation (1189 mm wide and 841 mm high). Please design your poster to fit these size specification.

Posters will be mounted on display boards using Velcro. Velcro buttons will be provided by DICTA.

You must ensure that your poster is displayed well in time for your session and that it is removed afterwards to make room for the next session. Posters not taken down in time will be destroyed.

We look forward to seeing you and your poster at DICTA 2015. If you have questions related to posters, please do not hesitate to contact the Poster Coordinator directly:
